"Building a living legacy of quality one special gift at a time."
What is a Hospice House?
Hospice House is a place for people with life-limiting illnesses to spend their
final days when they require special care not possible at home. Patients and
families will be allowed the independence, control, and dignity that is the
Hospice philosophy.
Is there a need for such
a facility?
Home care will continue to be the primary focus of Hospice of Citrus County.
However, the Inpatient residence will exist as the alternative to serving patients
without their caregivers in their home. Hospice of Citrus County has been providing
more and more for patients who live alone, or with family members whose lives
are already filled with the responsibilities of work and family. Hospice House
will offer these patients the opportunity to live in a home staffed 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week by trained, professional Hospice caregivers, receiving
Hospice care from the regular Hospice team, and to be supported by friends and
family to the extent they are able.
How Hospice House Will Work?
Hospice House will provide an alternative home-like setting for patients without
caregivers in their homes when home care is not an option.
